Youth Empowerment through Vocational Training Project

Overview: The Youth Empowerment through Vocational Training project addresses critical challenges faced by young people in Malawi, such as high school dropouts, early marriages, and unemployment. By providing practical skills training, we aim to create pathways for self-sufficiency and economic stability.

Key Components:

  • Training Programs: We offer vocational training in skills such as tailoring, bricklaying, and hairdressing. Each training program is designed to meet market needs and enhance employability.
  • Pilot and Expansion Phases: Since 2020, we have conducted several training phases. Initially, 63 youths were trained in 2020, with an additional 63 in 2021. In 2022, we trained 60 youths in phases, and by early 2023, 186 youths have completed training.
  • Employment and Self-Employment: Of the 186 trained, 86 are currently earning incomes through employment or self-employment. Trained youths are also recruited as trainers, further extending the impact of our programs.

Impact: Our project has successfully provided vocational skills to 186 youths, significantly improving their employment prospects and economic independence. The program continues to grow, aiming to reach more young people in need.
